Student Officers

What and who are your Sabbatical Officers?

Sabbatical Officers are elected representatives who have been voted in to oversee the running of the entire Students’ Union. As students of the University who have either completed their degree or have elected to take a sabbatical year off from their course, they provide leadership, policy formulation and the day-to-day co-ordination of the Students’ Union.

There are five full-time paid sabbatical posts and one part time, a President and four Vice Presidents. Each Vice President is assigned to one particular aspect of the Union’s activities: Welfare and Campaigns, Communication, Sports, Societies and Activities, and the Havering and Whipps Cross Campuses'.

They are elected to support you as students, taking up problems that face students with the University’s governing body and campaigning with NUS (both nationally and regionally) on issues that affect the lives of students.

Remember the Sabbatical Officers are here for you at all times. Come and see them, talk to them, get to know what they do, and in general participate in your Union.

I enjoy good company, people that I can connect with and I am always ready to learn from other. I like sport and love entertainment, maybe that why I always put myself in some creasy situations… shhhhut (don’t tell). My little advice: “Going to uni is not always what we were expected. However, it is down to you to make it the best experience of you life. The easy way to do it is to enjoy every year, month, hour, minute and second of you student life.”
